Blushing Bride

Kevin and I had a fantastic weekend in Calgary!  We had the pleasure of attending my beautiful cousin's wedding to her Fireman husband :) Shauna and Paul have been together for over 4 years, so he's had ample opportunity to know what he was in for.  They make an absolutely stunning couple who are some of the funnest people to be around--not to mention all their friends and family! Now they decided to have an adult event, giving us the opportunity to have some time away from little-stinker-butt-beauty-queen-tantrum-thrower-silly-pants-boo.  Lucky for us we have an amazing S.I.L. who warmly and excitedly welcomed her for her very first sleep over!  Of course my brother and all six of her cousins were happy about this too ;) Kevin and I met Auntie Charissa and Cousin Raegyn in Blackfalds to make the transaction.  After that, we dropped Sir Sarge at the kennel and came back home to get ready.  Got all pretty and handsome and set out on the open road to g...

Family Pictures

Just last week we decided it was high time to get some current family photos done.  I realized we were lacking in pictures of all three of us when I was working on the collage for the O's apartment. Well, I called upon my super-awesome-good friend Jess to meet us at Bower Ponds to try and capture some pictures of us with our little hurricane.  Although she doesn't stay still for long, Jess did manage to snap a few great shots! :) I also want to share a few photos I snapped after we settled Opa and Oma in to their apartment.  With time, they will develop a new routine and I am certain they will become very comfortable here.  Lord knows Nola has already made herself comfortable on visits! I love them with all my heart, can't imagine life without them, don't know what I'd do without them.  Now I can worry (a little) less. The bedroom... The sitting/tv room... With a little kitchen for snacks and drinks.  They'll be eating meals in the di...

What Makes an Expert an Expert?

I’ve posed this question to numerous family and friends, and I’ve never gotten a solid answer.   Most often after I’ve asked this question, I’m left with a thoughtful stare, a smirk or a shoulder shrug. This question has been bugging me for some time now.   Truthfully, the question came to me because of my estranged sister-in-law who deems herself a “Relationship Expert”.   I find it terribly ironic she cannot have any kind of relationship with her in-laws, and hasn’t for over 6 years.   The “Relationship Expert” has even gone so far as to ensure her husband has NO contact with his brother, mother or father either (regarding differences I think are manageable).   I am so fortunate (insert sarcastic tone) to read her underwhelming articles in our free Wednesday newspaper from time to time, and hear her “Lady Love” segment on our Friday morning Tops 40’s station.   But if her clients knew what I know, would they deem her an expert? So what does ...

Kicking Horse

My hands hurt!  As most or all of you know, I'm on blood thinners for my clotting disorder.  That means my skin is horribly thin and even the slightest scuff will easily tear off a top layer of skin here and there.  The main target: my hands. This weekend I had the terrific pleasure of going with my cousin and a (wonderful) group of her friends to Golden, British Columbia to celebrate in some pre-wedding antics and rafting on the Kicking Horse River.  Thanks to the rafting my hands got terribly scuffed but it was totally worth it! ;) My cousin's name is Shauna and she is amazing.  For as long as I can remember I have been in love with her and her family.  She is fun, hilarious, kind and BEAUTIFUL.  A total package kind of gal who I've always admired and wished I was like.  She's a mere 2 years older than I and has finally found the perfect man to see her through all her days.  Wedding to take place next month. My Aunt Babette was also t...

Cutie Patootie Attitudie

This afternoon we went to the local playground.  Of course, Sarge came too.  ♥

Funny Face

My little funny face :)  I ♥ her.

June Bug

My little June Bug has been so much fun.  With the weather improving, so has her mood :) Since Canada Post has been on strike I'm not able to mail out little picture fridge updates for those on my list...particularly those out of country. There are so many people who treat Nola like gold from afar.  I want them to have a chance to see her grow and change too. This is for the Germans and Americans we just don't see enough! ♥ And a video to finish it off.  I never realized how much they enjoy each other until I made this compilation! ♥
