A little of this

Once again, it has been far too long since I wrote last…   I hate to use that dreaded word, so I won’t… It’s not that I’ve been busy ; I haven’t made this a priority!   Lol. I’m sitting here trying to think of any breaking news I need to fill you in on and simply can’t come up with any.   Life hasn’t been overly exciting, but it has kept the standard pace of too fast. So, instead of make this an overly long blog about all the boring little antics of our life, I’m going to simplify things and give the shortened version. Kevin was able to take about 2 weeks off and aside from camping, we made specific time to clean things out, put up proper shelves and reorganize the garage and basement storage rooms.   Boy does that make things feel better! We loaded up the motorhome a few different times now… We went in June to Gull Lake and Ole MacDonald Farm by Stettler, and recently we stayed at Crimson Lake.   Nola loves camping and fits right in with the dirty...

The Real Deal

I was able to experience something incredible today.   Me, my Grandmother (Oma) and my Mother (Monika) went to see Dwayne, a Psychic Medium. Of course I got the idea from watching some TV shows and thinking about how interesting it would be.   Then I discovered a cousin in Ontario recently went to a Psychic Medium to connect with her passed Father.   As luck and irony should have it, shortly after that I saw a Facebook status of a friend who had had the pleasure of being read by Dwayne and how “blown away” she was.   That was enough for me, and I got his information and booked the appointment. I convinced my Mom and Oma that this should be something the three of us do together.   I didn’t think it would take too much convincing as they are both spiritual to a degree and definitely open minded.   Yep, they agreed. Dwayne agreed to see the three of us consecutively, which I was grateful for, thinking it might be a bit too much Drexler/Schmidt/Cappi...

The Zoo, Avon & Weeds a.k.a. Life

Finally I’m able to sit down with my thoughts and blog!   I know I’m beginning to say this every time, but alone-time is a precious never these days. I wouldn’t change it for anything. Last weekend was Father’s Day and I think we were able to show Daddy just how much we love and appreciate him.   There’s no denying Nola is her Daddy’s girl and she was pleased to be able to wish him “Daddy Happy Day!”   Kevin received a new watch and ball cap that I think he’ll actually wear!   Score J Lots of things have been going on with our Macleod Momentum.   The three of us girls were able to go to the Zoo with beloved cousin Stephanie, Aunt Laura and cousin Chris.   Nola had a great time as long as she was in the comfort of her wagon.   She was quite cautious about everything and I think pretty overwhelmed at the actual size of the lions and tigers and bears.   Oh my.   She’s only seen them in books, after all. We’ve also been on our fi...

The Stogsdills Were Here!

Dear Friends and Family, this month seems to have sped by like the dickens!  My life has certainly picked up pace and we are busy even when we aren't busy!  But I'm NEVER too busy for YOU!!  So, call me when you can, or message me or send me a thought in the wind... I'll do the same ;) Nola is potty trained!!  Can you believe that!  What success she has had.  I was putting it off because my lazy meter was off the charts.  I knew it was time, however, when she would recently look at Kevin or I and tell us that she just peed...  So, after seeing a post by one of my friends, Tracey, on Facebook about 3 day potty training, I read the short book and set the date.  I picked the long weekend, and began Sunday morning, and would carry through Monday and Tuesday also.  Let me tell you, I believe she was trained about half way through the first day!  The first time she began to release, I ran her to the potty and she dribbled a ...

Chubbier Cheeks

Finally I’m able to sit down at the computer for a few minutes!   Everyone told me it would be busier with two and they weren’t kidding!   Love it though. Things have been good in the little life of this family Macleod. Heidi has been gaining weight and getting chubbier cheeks (which are adorable).   I think I mentioned in my last blog the rigmarole of formulas…   First she drank breast milk, then Enfamil, Enfamil Soy, Nutramigen, goat milk and currently Alimentum.   You may think I’m terrible for changing so many times of the delicate little system but when I was told she was colicky, I couldn’t bear to watch her in distress.   I wanted to fix the problem and when I put her on goat milk it did.   She was a new baby; happy and content without abdominal issues.   After speaking with the doctor and pediatrician who were against it, I spoke to a nutritionist who was able to answer some questions regarding why her system is too immature yet. ...

It Is True

I've discovered it is true.  Life does get busier after baby number 2.  I thought I was going to bypass this because of my organization and such, but alas I was wrong. I love to blog and find it very therapeutic.  In fact, I kept a regular journal from the time I was about 11 right up until about 17; I would write in it almost daily. Life has been a whirlwind of awesomeness since little Heidi came home.  I feel like I'm only now finding some kind of normal. Nola is being ridiculously cute daily and her little independent attitude is hilarious.  She's a lot of fun and hasn't found the tantrum dendrite yet, thankfully.  I know it will come but for now I will enjoy the way she says, "I o u Mummy" which directly translates into "I love you Mommy" or the unprompted peas and tank u.  It's especially heart warming when Heidi cries from her crib and Nola runs full out yelling, "I come Heidi!"  Awesome. Over this last weekend we had a b...

The Pictures Are In!

The pictures are in and if I do say so myself, my girlies are quite photogenic...not to mention their Mom and Pop! These are just some tasters of the wonderful job two of my friends did. My friend Jess Schurman was kind enough to take some fabulous maternity shots! And another friend of mine, Amber Bourret, took some snaps after we were home.  Check out her website at  www.ambphotos.ca And I loved this one of my Mighty Girl showing off her tiger stripe. All it takes is a little Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust ;) And now my life will fly past me in its perpetual momentum... I once read, "Moments Stand Still. Days Crawl By. Time Flies." At 2 o'clock in the morning it does stand still. Fighting with a toddler crawls by. And Heidi will be a month old tomorrow. Sigh. Birth announcements will be mailed out soon! All the best :D
